Patio design ideas for fall

If you spent all summer installing the best patio pavers to create a beautiful space for you and your family to spend time, you probably aren't too happy that the weather's now getting cooler. However, winter isn't here yet, and you can still take the time to enjoy your porch and patio before it gets too chilly. Here are some great patio design ideas for fall that'll have you reaching for your warm sweater and spending time on your patio for months to come.

Get funky
According to HGTV, fall decor doesn't always have to be calm and muted – you can find zany ways to dress up your patio for autumn. For example, orange is a bright, vibrant color that many people associate with fall, and there are many funky chairs, lamps and other furnishings that come in this color.

Install a fire pit
Bombay Outdoors explained that one of the best ways to ensure that you'll get the most out of your patio all the way to winter is to install a fire pit. You and your loved ones can spend long nights huddled around this pit and stay warm and toasty well into the night. However, you have to make sure that you check with your local building codes to see if you're allowed to have a fire pit in your area, and if so, what safety precautions you have to take in order to create one.

Add some nostalgia
If you're the kind of person who prefers a classic touch, you should embrace this on your patio during the fall. For example, you can search antique stores for old wooden rocking chairs that you can easily restore yourself by sanding and painting them. This is something that your whole family can do together – everyone can get his or her own chair and paint it to suit his or her unique personality.

Keep color simple
Some people may not want bright orange and red furniture all over their patio, and if you're one of them, you should know that you don't have to do much to get touches of color on your patio during the fall. If you live in an area of the U.S. where the leaves change, consider keeping the furniture on your patio in neutral colors that are similar to the colors of your travertine pavers. The trees around your patio will provide enough beautiful color all on their own.

Install a fountain
One of the best ways to create a new look for your patio that'll look great during any season is to install a fountain. This may seem like a major undertaking, but you can hire a professional to come and take care of everything for you, or you can purchase a smaller fountain that you can easily install yourself. One of the best things about a fountain is that it'll still look gorgeous when winter comes and it begins to snow.
